Get fingerprints and complete background checks

After completing your pre-licensing courses, you need to schedule your fingerprint appointment so that you can complete your background check. Your application to sit for the exam cannot be processed until your background check has been completed. Therefore, it is important to start this process immediately.

Background checks for West Virginia are scheduled and performed by IdentoGO, a third-party background check service. You will be instructed to enter the WVREC Service Commission code 228Q6K, which will take you to the scheduling portal to select an appointment and date or request a mail-in fingerprint card.

You will also need specific documents to verify your identity when you arrive at the appointment. Typically, you will be required to bring a valid photo ID such as a passport or driver’s license, but identification may vary depending on your citizenship status. The fee for the service is $ 45.75 and can be paid directly on the website with a credit or debit card. All criminal background checks will expire 90 days after the report issuance date. 5. Submit an application to write the examination

Once you have selected a surety broker, you can apply to take your West Virginia real estate license exam. You will be required to complete and mail a printed application or submit your application online to write the examination. 6. Take the West Virginia Real Estate Exam

The West Virginia real estate exam is divided into a national and state section, and you must pass both to move forward with a license. The exam is taken on the computer, so your score will be displayed on the screen immediately after the exam, and a score report will also be sent to you by email.

If you pass, you will receive a successful notification and must save the report to upload along with your license application. If you fail, you will receive an email report containing diagnostic information outlining your strengths and weaknesses so that you can study and plan an exam recurrence. You are only expected to take over the portion (s) you failed.

You will have 90 days or two to pass both sections, whichever comes first, or you will be required to resubmit the application to write the examination. You can reschedule your exam 24 hours after your failed attempt. 7. Apply for your West Virginia License
